Chairman of the Board

Doug became Chairman of the Board of Porter Warner Industries in 2024 after being President since 1977. He has been a shareholder of PWI since 1970.  Doug became Vice President of PWI in 1965 after joining PWI in 1963 as Technical Sales Representative.

Doug has over 61 years of experience in the foundry industry.

Doug earned his B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina in 1961.

Co-Chief Executive Officer

David became Porter Warner Industries’ Co-Chief Executive Officer after being Vice President of Finance & Administration since 1983 and has been a shareholder of PWI since 1988.  David joined PWI in 1982 as Assistant to the President.

Prior to PWI, David was employed by Rockwell International in Chattanooga, TN as Plant Controller from 1980 to 1982 and financial analyst in Troy, MI from 1977 to 1979.

David has over 44 years of experience in the foundry industry.

David earned his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University in 1975 and his M.B.A. degree in Finance from The Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College in 1977.

Birmingham Operations Manager

Bill joined Porter Warner Industries in 2008 as Birmingham Operation Manager.  Bill is responsible for the Birmingham “manned” operation.  The Birmingham, AL operation covers foundries and surface preparation customers in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida and Arkansas.  Bill covers direct accounts in Alabama and Florida.

Prior to PWI, Bill started and owned Specialty Foundry Products from 1999 to 2008 and started and owned Refractory Specialist, a refractory installation company from 2004 to 2008.  Bill was employed by Premier Refractories from 1993 to 1999 as the Regional Sales Manager and V. P. of Sales.  Bill was Technical Director for Specialty Systems from 1990 to 1993.  From 1986 to 1990, Bill was employed by Mueller Chattanooga, where he was the Core Room Supervisor and General Foreman.  Bill was employed by Eureka Foundry from 1973 to 1986, where he managed the wet lab and was afforded the opportunity to work and learn all facets of green sand, no bake, cupola, channel, and coreless furnace operations. 

Bill has over 50 years of experience in the foundry industry.

Bill attended MTSU from 1974-76 where he majored in Biology.  Bill attended University of Tennessee- Chattanooga from 1977-1981 where he majored in Geology.

Southwest Operations Manager

Brett joined Porter Warner Industries in 2012 as Southwest Operation Manager.  Brett is responsible for the Arlington, TX “manned” operation and the Tulsa, OK  public warehouse.  The Southwest Operation covers foundry customers in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Western Louisiana, and Southern Arkansas.  Brett covers direct accounts in Texas and Western Louisiana.

Prior to joining PWI, Brett was employed at East Jordan Iron Works from 2001 to 2012 serving as Facility Manager and Manufacturing Manager.  Brett previously was employed at Wheland Foundry from 1999 to 2001 as Director of Melt Operations and Senior Buyer.  Brett was employed at Dalton Foundries from 1992 to 1999 as Melting Manager, Senior Project Metallurgist and Chief Metallurgist.  Brett began his career with Grede Foundries, serving as Quality Assurance Manager and Shell Mold Foreman from 1988 to 1992.

Brett has over 36 years of experience in the foundry industry.

Brett earned his B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Michigan Technological University in 1988 and his M.B.A degree from Indiana University in 1996.

Richburg Operations Manager 

Trevor joined PWI as the Richburg, SC Operation Manager in 2020.  The Richburg operation covers foundries and surface preparation customers in South Carolina, North Carolina, Eastern Georgia, and Virginia.  Trevor covers direct accounts in South Carolina and Eastern Georgia.

Prior to PWI, Trevor was employed at FOSECO from 1990 to 2019, holding positions of Application Engineering Manager, Product Manager, Marketing Manager and Marketing and Technology Director – Ferrous Foundry. Trevor was employed at Haley Industries from 1984 to 1990 as a Foundry Methods Engineer.

Trevor has over 40 years of experience in the foundry industry.

Trevor earned his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology from St. Lawrence College in 1984 and earned his Six Sigma Black Belt from the University of Akron in 2014.

Arlington Office/Warehouse Manager

Jim became Porter Warner Industries’ Arlington, TX Office/Warehouse Manager responsible for the Arlington, Houston and Tulsa warehouse in 1989.  Prior to that, Jim was PWI’s Houston’s Office/Warehouse Manager in 1982.  Jim joined PWI in 1981 as a Technical Sales Representative in Houston, TX.

Prior to PWI, Jim was employed by Texas Steel in Fort Worth, TX from 1976 – 1979.

Jim has over 45 years of experience in the foundry industry.

Jim earned his B.S. degree in Engineering Technology from Texas A&M University in 1980.

Jeaneen became Porter Warner Industries’ Phoenix, AZ location Office/Warehouse Manager in 2002, where she is responsible for the Phoenix and El Paso warehouses.

Prior to PWI, Jeaneen was employed by Quality Stamp & Seal, located in Glendale, AZ from 1985 to 2002.  She was hired as a typesetter and engraver before being promoted to Manager and Vice President.

Shelly became Porter Warner Industries’ Birmingham, AL Office/Warehouse Manager in 2010.  Prior to that, Shelly worked in the PWI Birmingham office as a Customer Service Representative since 1999.  Shelly joined PWI in 1992 as the Birmingham Receptionist.

Connie became Porter Warner Industries’ Office Manager of the Richburg, SC location in 2020.  Connie joined PWI in 2002 as a Customer Service Representative.

Prior to PWI, Connie was employed with Wal-Mart as lead customer service manager from 1989 to 2002.

Technical Sales Representative

Courtney joined Porter Warner Industries as a Technical Sales Representative in 2018.  His area of coverage is Oklahoma, Kansas, and Northern Texas.

Courtney served as the Foundry Manager for SP Foundry/Jencast from 2013 – 2018.  Prior to that, Courtney was the Foundry Manager for Tonkawa Foundry from 2010 – 2013.  He was a Molding Supervisor for Grede-Wichita from 2008 – 2010 after being a Molding Supervisor at ACME Foundry from 2005 – 2008.

Courtney has over 19 years of experience in the foundry industry.

Courtney received his Plant and Soil Science degree from Southern Illinois University in 2004.

Technical Sales Representative
Industrial and Marine Market Development 

Duane joined Porter Warner Industries in 2009 as a Surface Preparation Technical Sales Representative for the Southeast U. S. and works out of our Birmingham, AL facility.  

Prior to PWI, Duane was employed by The Sherwin Williams Company from 1984 to 2009. Starting as store manager in Talladega, AL in 1984 and was then promoted to the facility manager in Auburn, AL in 1994.  Duane became sales rep in Birmingham in 1996.  Duane was promoted to sales rep in Montgomery, AL in 1998 and was promoted to facility manager at the Birmingham Commercial location in 2001.  In 2003, Duane opened the first full service Industrial facility in Birmingham, AL, and then was promoted to Industrial and Marine Rep in North Alabama in 2005 where he finished his career with Sherwin Williams Company.

Technical Sales Representative
Foundry/Surface Preparation

Tom joined Porter Warner Industries as a Technical Sales Representative in 2005.  His area of coverage is Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Northern Mexico.

Prior to PWI, Tom was employed by ME Global as a Supervisor in the molding department from 1995 to 2005.  Tom started his career with Waterton Industrial Products as a warehouse manager from 1989 to 1995.  Waterton Industrial Products was purchased by PWI in 1991.

Tom has over 35 years of experience in the foundry and surface prep industries.

Tom earned his B.S. degree in Management from Arizona State University in 1988.

Technical Sales Representative

Joe joined Porter Warner Industries as a Technical Sales Representative in 2015. His area of coverage is Alabama, Florida, and Louisiana. 

In 2022, Joe became a Technical Consultant for PWI.

Prior to joining PWI, Joe was with American Colloid Co from 2002 through 2015 as a Technical Service Representative and Product Manager.  His employment at American Colloid came through the acquisition of a private company he and a business partner ran from 1990 through 2002.  Joe worked for Ashland Chemical from 1981 to 1990 as a Technical Service Representative, Metallurgist, and Product Manager.  Joe worked from 1978 to 1981 as a foundry metallurgist at Rockwell International in Atchison, KS and Florida Machine and Foundry. 

Joe has over 45 years of experience in the foundry industry.

Joe earned a B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering in 1978 from the University of Missouri – Rolla.

Technical Sales Representative

Ben joined Porter Warner Industries as a Technical Sales Representative in October 2023. His area of coverage is West Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana.

Prior to PWI, Ben was employed by Thompson Tractor Company in Birmingham as a Parts and Service Sales Representative for two years. Before that he had a combined 22 years in the foundry industry servicing customers in the Southeast as a Technical Sales Representative for Specialty Foundry Products and Perry Supply Company in Birmingham. He began his career as a Machinist and CNC Programmer / Operator for Research and Development Company in Tuscaloosa.

Ben earned his A.S. degree in CNC / Machine Tool Operation from Shelton State College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Technical Sales Representative

Bob joined Porter Warner Industries as a technical sales representative in 1993.  Bob’s area of coverage is the Los Angeles, CA area.

Prior to PWI, Bob was employed by Pryor Giggey as a technical sales representative from 1986 to 1993.  Before his Pryor Giggey employment, Bob was General Manager from 1982 to 1986, sales manager from 1980 to 1982, and technical sales representative from 1976 to 1980 at Atlas Foundry Services Co.  Bob worked for the Southern California Coastal Water Research Project from 1975 to 1976.

Bob has over 48 years of experience in the foundry industry.

Bob earned his B.S. degree in Microbiology from California State University Long Beach in 1975. 

Bob served in the U.S. Navy as a Dental Technician aboard the USS Enterprise from 1968 to 1970, and as an oral surgery technician at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii from 1966 to 1968.
